['hærəd], Sir (seit 1959) Henry Roy Forbes, britischer Volkswirtschaftler, * London 13. 2. 1900, ✝ Holt (County Norfolk) 8. 3. 1978; seit 1953 Professor in Oxford, 1945-61 Mitherausgeber des »Economic Journal«, 1962-64 Präsident der »Royal Economic Society«. Harrod beschäftigte sich besonders mit Problemen des wirtschaftlichen Wachstums (Harrod-Domar-Modell, Wachstum), der Theorie der internationalen Wirtschaftsbeziehungen und der Geldtheorie.
